Two! Today is the day that I will officially stop counting your age in months (otherwise people will think I’m nuts). We had a small party for you with Grandpa, Grandma, Dave and Lola. We ate your current favourite foods: hotdogs, french fries, beans and vegetables. For dessert you had ice cream soup because you were too busy playing with Lola to bother eating while your ice cream was still frozen.

Shall we just call this month of the Princesses? You are fascinated by Disney princesses. We got you a plush Tinkerbell and a Cinderella and you flipped your lid. You were super sweet and let Lola wear your brand new princess shoes. I suspect this was because you were busy opening another present, and not because you’ve actually grasped sharing yet. But who cares? We’ll get there. You and Lola had a blast playing and tearing around the house. You were hilarious and sweet, if not a bit cracked out on sugar. Totally worth it when you went around the room asking about everyone’s belly buttons. Yes sweet child, even the dog has a belly button.
You were an adorable baby, but I am loving this tiny person you’re becoming. You have so much personality; it grows every day. You’re willful and passionate, and I think both of those things will do you well in life. While it can be exasperating to hear you say no! no! no! no! no! a zillion times in one day, you have a pretty effective method for making me forget it when you ask to “snuggle mama?”. When someone gets upset with you, you do something silly to deflect their frustration. It’s hilarious to watch, because it is totally something that you learned from your Dad.
You are the raddest thing to have ever happened to us.
Love,
Mama
And I pretty much love the picture of Lola attacking your child for a “passionate hug”? Two is amazing. No longer a baby and not quite a kid.
It was pretty much the perfect birthday party, thanks for sharing your fam with me.
