Really Late (not weekend) Update

- I’m contemplating beating up punk-ass kids on the bus that snicker when I pull out my knitting. Handmade gifts don’t make themselves yo!

- Was hoping that I would be in the process of bench marking before Oil City takes their Christmas break. But the death flu is making its rounds through derby circles, so the night they started bench marking I was sick. The night I was better our coach was sick. Hopefully we can make serious progress next week and as soon as we’re back in January. This girl wants to skate.

- All Christmas, all the time. Our lights are up, and even if the red light over the front door is a little creepy – Sean made a spectacular effort (thanks for listening to my rant, best husband ever). So far the tree has remained standing even though Bagheera and Pandora enjoy wild games of chase underneath the very low hanging branches. Attia seems to gravitate towards the sparkly plastic ornaments and the ones that look like stuffed animals. Let’s hope this continues for the rest of December.

- Every day I race home to gather chicken eggs. We usually only have one, but sometimes there are two! It’s especially tragic when they get too cold, then crack before we bring them inside. I still recommend backyard hens. It’s still illegal in Edmonton.

- I’m reading an excellent book for work on value pricing called Pricing on Purpose. Only, I’m not really interested in the value pricing part. I’ll leave that to Banks and Dana. I’m more interested in the parts about the people who bring the business the value that commands a higher price. You follow? People matter. They really, really, do. Successful business people recognize this. Crappy ones struggle.

- Work is going well. I’m a little bit sad that OJ is leaving for Bali in 9 days. Her wife’s parents live there, so they have to go for Christmas. Tough life hey? Having to travel to Bali. Poor girl. Whatever will she do. Oh, that’s right. She’ll relax in a tropical location while the rest of us are shoveling obscene amounts of snow.

- SNOW! In case you had any doubts that I lived in Canada, please let me assure you that the snow pile next to my driveway is nearly taller than I am. And did I mention that we’re still technically in the fall portion of the year? Yeah. That.

- My kid officially knows some bad words. I took a video of her “blogging” yesterday. She was being adorable and bashing the keyboarding and saying, “I’m bloggin!” Of course when I turned on the camera she decided that was the appropriate time to drop an f-bomb or two. Or three. Maybe it was four times? I’m mildly embarrassed, but mostly entertained. Where do I sign up for my parent of the year award? No seriously, where? If you want to see the video, check it out on my G+ page.

Attia and Bentley should get together, Bentley loves the computer and his choice of words lately is identical to Attia’s, plus he “talks” to Attia whenever he sees her picture or he will go over to my computer and try to open it and say, “see Attia, see Attia” and has a bit of a temper tantrum if I say no.

Those kids on the bus? You should just smile at them and tell them if they bring some yarn and knitting needles tomorrow you’ll start teaching them to knit:-)

It’s because you’re not on Google+ and it’s limited to my friends. I’ll try and post a new video, without swearing, soon.
